Aerofly FS 1 crashes right after program start, what can I do?
First ensure your PC really meets the minimum system requirements.

Most crashes are due to older graphic card drivers. It is strongly recommended that you update your 3D graphic card driver to the latest version before running Aerofly FS 1. Most computers have 3D drivers installed, but Aerofly FS 1 requires up to date drivers to work properly. Please don't use the Windows Update function to search for a current driver, instead visit the 3D graphic card manufacturer for the latest version.

aerofly FS does not run smooth and my frame rate is below 30 FPS, what can I do?
First ensure your PC really meets the minimum system requirements.

If your 3D card meets our requirements carefully revise your graphic settings in Aerofly FS 1. Setting the quality in Aerofly FS 1 too high has a big impact on the performance. Even when using a 3D card with 1 GB of Ram it is not recommended to set all settings to High or Ultra, instead choose to use less texture quality or terrain texture quality.

Do I need a joystick to fly Aerofly FS 1?
A joystick is generally recommended for the best flying experience, however you can also use a game-pad, your mouse or even the keyboard. The mouse option for steering is actually very precise and once you get used to it allows very good and smooth flying.

How current are the aerial images?
The images have been taken over a long period of time. So you will see areas with fairly new date, but there are also areas that are many years old and might not feature all buildings or roads that exist today. However the overall quality of the aerial images no matter what date it was made is very high and results in an impressive visual quality.

Can I set a different time of day or even night?
The scenery of Aerofly FS 1 is based on real aerial images made at a certain time of day and a certain time of the year. So the current version does not allow the changing of time. We will consider this for a future update, since Aerofly FS 1 already features the ability to do real time lighting computations.

How does Aerofly FS 1 compare to other flight simulators?
Aerofly FS 1 puts its main focus on the flying side paired with awesome graphics, realistic physics and a fluent simulation speed. The operation of all aircraft is kept very simple on purpose, so no setup has to be done inside an aircraft to start flying. Yet all basic instruments in the cockpit are animated and show real values.
If you are looking for exact aircraft operations like setting up navigational instruments or adjusting the motor then other simulators are better for you.

Do I have to be a pilot to master the aircraft in Aerofly FS 1?
Aerofly FS 1 gives you a steep learning curve even if you are an absolute beginner. You don't need to focus on setting up an aircraft like turning on the engine, or moving certain switches into the right position. You can fly right away. Using our challenges you get tasks with increasing difficulty depending on your personal flying skills.

I purchased Aerofly FS 1 from the Mac App Store but the download doesn't finish, what can I do?
The delivery of the App to your computer is solely in the hands of Apple, so unfortunately there isn't much we can do. However if you cannot finish the download you have the right to cancel your purchase and receive a refund.
Some customers however were able to fix this problem by doing the following:
  • Create a new temporary Mac OS X user account
  • Log into this new account and start the App Store application
  • Try to continue downloading the App using your existing iTunes account
  • Once the download is finished, log out again and log back in again with your usual user account
  • You may then delete your user account again

All config files of Aerofly FS 1 are stored in a special folder inside your users Library folder. By default the Library folder of Max OS X 10.7( Lion ) and10.8 ( Mountain Lion ) is hidden.
