Separate Lightning Tutorial

  • Hi guys:

Thank you very much for posting the airports added to Hawaii, as places (no models yet) and with its lightning. Is there any plans to release a separate lightning tutorial explaining how to add the lightning to all our user created airports?.

    Cheers, Ed

  • Hi Ed,

I'm working on this right now. I should have it up on the wiki soon.

  • Just one question: to add the lightning do we need to have any scenery object downloaded from the Library?. I've followed the guide in PDF but the lightning is not showing up, probably I'm missing those objects?.

    Cheers, Ed

  • Yes,

    we need a runway object.

See this block from the hawaii TSC files:

    Code
    1.         <[list_tmsimulator_scenery_object][objects][]
    2. <[tmsimulator_scenery_object][element][0]
    3. <[string8][type][object]>
    4. <[string8][geometry][runway]>
    5. <[vector3_float64][position][-158.2074393 21.5787397 -4]>
    6. >
    7. >

Add these lines to your TSC.

Modify the coordinates, but not the height of -4.

Copy the runway.tmb from hawaii to your directory.
This is just a dummy to show up the lighting.
