Anyone in San Fran on Oct 20th? Chance to try the Pimax 8k VR headset

looks like Ocolus is dead in the water.

Looking at their OC4 conference, Oculus aren't interested in pushing the limits. They want one billion people doing social stuff in low cost headsets. We need Pimax or maybe a new Vive solution to continue the VR flight sim revolution.

I'm slightly confused at the packages available. There's a 300 Buck difference between the standard 8K model without any base-stations, to the next package which includes 2 X base-stations plus 2 X hand-controllers. Although they state it can run on 1 X base-station, why not offer the 8K headset with 1 X base-station and keep the cost down? I don't really want to pay for hand controls and a redundant base station that's just going to collect dust.

More opportunities to see the 8K. They've just done a youtube showing it with Project Cars 2. We need to see FS2 !

I, and a few others, have requested Aerofly at the Pimax forums. They specifically asked the question here. The more of us request it the more chance of it happening.

I would think if we (IPACS?) could generate an external SSD with Aerofly FS 2 installed and ready to go with an ICON to push to start and run in the scenario we want to test in, we would have a much better chance to see it get tested.
