I would certainly be interested.
Let's see what our Moderator thinks of the ideas. I am all in myself.

BTW, Aerosoft released Hergoland version 1.01 that allows the instalation of the scenery outside of the C: documents folder.

I am puzzled by this... do you first have to modify the main.mcf file?
The installer I downloaded claims to be 1.01 but I didn't see any such option.
-
I’m not sure where your main.mcf file is located since Steam is installing Aerofly directly to your D: drive. I will download the v1.01 today and see if I can help you find where you direct the installer to a non-standard location.

Ray

Yes, I think you should modify your main.mcf file first, adding (if not already present) the line corresponding to the folder you want to add as an alternate user content folder. There are previous posts in this forum on how to do that.
Additionally, I've posted minutes ago at the Aerosoft forums (for AFS2) that the installer seems to be the same of v1.00. I downloaded the supposedly new v1.01 today and still not finding the way to set a different path and also the offshore platforms are not yet seen as a starting locations.
NOTE: I was trying to install v1.01 on my laptop only for the moment, on which I don't have an alternate install path, so I must install everything in my C: drive. Obviously there is no modification on its main.mcf file in this setup.
Hopefully somebody at Aerosoft will explain or check the installer.

Contains EDXB Büsum for flights to/from the mainland. Just downloading, will try it tonight.
Kind regards, Michael
Hello. Are we going to ‘see’ it on Steam too? My AFS2 is the steam version.
From Europe, I only have Innsbruck; I would really like to buy Helgoland too…

I have the AeroflyFS Steam version, too. The Aerosoft download works fine with it.

It may work fine but I myself prefer to purchase addons for AFS2 on Steam: makes reinstalling the sim so much easier!

...and automated patches/updates!

There are obvious advantages for addons to come directly from the 3rd party developers like FSWidgets, Orbx, and Aerosoft, and of course the ease of buying them from Steam, when available. The instant availability is more important to some users, like myself, while the ease of having all the addons monitored and updated, when necessary, by Steam. Usually the availability from Steam is delayed, sometimes, days, other times for weeks.
I say, to each his own.
Many developers tend to shy away from Steam whenever possible due to the big bite of the sales price taken by Steam, usually 30%, which tends to drive up the retail price for everyone.
I am just appreciative that we have 3rd party developers actively building add ons for us. I was just communicating with yet another one overnight and again this morning with very encouraging news of the progress. Sorry, I can't tell you more now, but it certainly will be well received by many.

I'm holding off buying it until its on Steam. I don't want lots of different installers/updaters. I'll make an exception for Orbx... I do want those wind turbines though !!

I'm absolutely with you here. Aerosoft support is not the best in the industry, so it's better if everybody cpuld obtain the installer via different sources, and Steam is the best.

Hi.
I have bought Helgoland when I was user of Windows PC, but after switching to Mac I have found that this scenery can not be installed. Is it a bug on Steam or Helgoland is not compatible with Mac OS?

Why don't you ask at http://Aerosoft.com/support?
