I have calibrated my rudder pedals but the turning circle is terrible. I cant help but end up on the grassed areas. Is this a known issue?
747 nose wheel steering very limited.

Yes, we know about this. It helps if you break and get the nose gear pressed onto the ground... When you have some momentum and can get it into the turn its a bit easier to turn. Asymmetric thrust and braking helps. For example you could pull the number 1 or number 4 engine thrust lever a bit forward to turn right or left respectively.

Have you mapped a control to the steering tiller? Rudder alone won't get you much when taxiing a 747.

If you don't assign a steering tiller and just rudder Aerofly will automatically fill in that missing control and generate a tiller command from your rudder input.

A rudder for steering on the ground? Hmm.
The fix is to apply brakes very quickly during the turn which works a treat. Thank you Jan.
