• What can be the reason that I do not see streetlights I cultivated with ScenProc and OpenStreetMap in Switzerland DLC?

The houses are there and also enlighted in night but not a single streetlight. I also do not know how they are created as I could not find any texture.

    Thomas

  • Thomas,

Are the houses you see in the same TOC file as the street lights you don't see ?

If yes, then I would say there may be some syntax error in your street lights definition.

If no, then you should first ensure your folder structure and TSC + TOC file are properly configured for being loaded in the sim

There's no texture, just light dots you place with ScenProc

    Cheers

  • Hi Antoine

Both are in the same toc-file.

This is what ScenProc creates. It is a small testfile near Dübendorf.

    Thanks for your help.

  • And how do lights declarations look like in your TOC file ?

  • I compared my lights with yours from your yverdon scenery and there is not much difference except for the number after the coordinates ( 6 vs 10) and the color (0.9/0.6/0.3 vs 1/1/1).

I replaced the above values with yours with no success. No lights.

  • Here is what I have.

    Code
    <[light][element][0]
            <[vector3_float64][position][8.67465919997732 46.7687787773436 8]>
            <[vector3_float32][color][0.9 0.9 0.9]>
            <[float32][intensity][3]>
            <[vector4_float32][flashing][0 0 1 0]>
            <[uint32][group_index][0]>
          >

Note the difference with the decimals

    Best, Sylvain

  • The only real difference I see is regarding the lon-lat data, it is much more precise than in my file. Has this to do with the osm source? I use openstreetmap.org and iscenproc, there i cannot change this.

  • How can i do this?

I have read in the manual about splitgrid. I do not see that this could cause my problem as i only work with small test files.

I really do not understand: everything looks ok, toc-file has the necessary entries for the lights in the given area. The reference is there in the tsc-file. The buildings are there, but no lights.

I give up, it is frustrating and i have spent hours now with that.

  • Sorry i read one more time your script and i'm not sure it would change something... there

Is not so much object to create in your TOC file. I don't understand why it don't work.

Not at home this week but may be someone could test your to file on his computer !?

  • yes, send me your zipped scenery folder (as it is in your addon structure). I'll have a look when I'm home...

    Cheers

  • If not true, the height you set is absolute, AMSL.

6m AMSL is far below ground level in Zürich, lights won't show up.

Learn by doing. Keep on the good job !

  • Yes true, sometimes hard.

I have attached my toc-files to existing airports in the swiss dlc and i found out that if their tsc-file contains a cultivation section auto_height is set to false, in the us it is set to true, same for airports built with fscloudport. So be careful when attaching toc-files to existing airports.

  • The Swiss DLC is somewhat different, because it was initially designed in Dufour coordinates system (not lonlat) and it looks like most airports ground are designed in 3D.

I guess it's due to the fact it's an AFS1 scenery that was converted to AFS2...
