Hello,
I recently bought a new WQHD screen with a resolution of 2560x1440. In AFS2 I don't see this resolution in the graphic settings.
Is there a way to add this resolution somewhere in a config file ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Check that you are using the right graphics card (within graphics card settings, outside aerofly) and please also tell us what graphics card you are using with which driver version?
Hello,
My graphic card is a nVidia MX150 which allows to manage up to 4K resolutiion. All Windows and drivers updates are installed. I don't think it is a problem with the graphic card as the standard resolution 2560x1440 is not in the list within AFS2 which I found strange...
Could you please locate the tm.log file in your user documents in the Aerofly FS 2 folder and upload this file here as a .txt ?
That might give us more clues.
Hello Jan,
Yes I can provide this, later today because I'm at work. But I don't really see in what this log file will help as it contains information on the startup process of the game, to eventually inform about error details.
Actually I don't encounter any problems or crashes with the game, except that the resolution of my screen (2560x1440) does not appear in the list of possible resolutions under Graphis settings section. Is this list hard-coded or is it somewhere part of a config file ?
I will provide you with the tm.log file ASAP.
Thanks again for your quick support,
Vincent
The tm.log also contains information about your graphics card, e.g. if the right graphics card is selected and not the graphics chip from your processor which would not be able to support the higher resolution...
Ok,
But I can already tell you that the nVidia MX150 is selected in the nVidia Control Panel as the default graphical processor to use. Furthermore i've already played AFS2 in even higer resolution, like in 4K on my laptop (HP Spectre x360 15-bl100).
When I play in other (higher) resolutions than the native one of my (extrernal) monitor - like 2560x1600 - then I got typical problems like some part of the screen that are missing or not accessible, which is normal. I can play in lower resolutions of course but this is not the goal when I bought this screen
My question is quite simple : why is the resolution 2560x1440 not available/selectable in AFS2 ? (2560x1600 exists but not 2560x1440)
I can see the resolution 2560x1440 in the settings list of Aerofly FS2 (I have to click several times, sometimes nothing happens --> I would prefer a list displayed). You can change this manually in the main.mcf file in your documents\aerofly fs 2 folder, the top two lines.

Hello Thomas,
Thanks. I've tried all of them but did not found, or maybe I was too tired
I will have a look once again tonight and also check the main.mcf file. I think this could be fixed easily
I will let you know.

Vincent
Hello Vincent
Use an editor like notepad++ to read the main.mcf file so the lines are properly displayed. Good luck!
Hello,
Finally I found the reason. It is a bit "stupid" but OK... The fact is that my display is by default extended between my laptop's screen and my external screen. With 2 screens having the same resolution you can update the main.mcf file so that the graphic settings in AFS2 will propose a resolution that match the global resolution of your 2 screens. (details are explain here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…s/?id=738066887).
In my case I have my laptop's (4K) screen and an external (2K) screen but I don't wanted to have the game displayed on both screens, only on the external screen. Contrary to FSX for example, it is not easy to start AFS2 on a specific screen, it starts on the laptop screen then in graphic settings I have to specify window mode then I move the game windows to the external screen then I maximize the window then I can specify my screen's resolution... A bit hard work !
Finally, the workaround is to redirect the display only to the external screen before starting the game. In that case the native resolution of my screen is shown in the list within AFS2 graphic settings section.
Thanks for your interest and whishing you good flight.
Vincent
