A320 doors

You can open the left forward door by clicking somewhere in the pilot seat and the right forward door in the copilot seat but the others are out of reach currently.

I saw an A320 with it's cargo doors open on steam .

Maybe you can also reach it from one of the wing views
-
you can do it with the Developer's view (CTRL + F8), but you have to be INSIDE the cargo bay to open the door..
-
I assume that they are out of reach because in the future -some how- it will be possible to open them using a more convenient way?

Thanks for the info π

by clicking somewhere in the pilot seat
It wasn't you that coded this?. Why you say somewhere, there's not a more precise answer, please?.

Ed, this is something that maybe Marc, Andreas, or even Torsten could have coded. Jan isn't the only person working on aircraft setup.
One of us will research it better and provide a more precise answer. I'm not even sure about this one.

The clickspot is actually on the door itself and if you turn around in the pilot seat the it happens to end up somewhere on or next to the seat just by pure geometry. If you move your camera sideways you still aim at the door handle (which you cant see) but that may happen to line up with somewhere on the seat... just move the mouse until the cursor highlights, then click once and wait.
Obviously this is not the final version.
And yes that was me, this is indeed intended to be used with the developer cameras, so if you fly to the door then you can open it by clicking the handle.

Something I always missed in all sims is the possibility to open the doors from the outside. Is this possible to achieve?

In the developer camera, yes. This cam can be used to do somewhat of a walk around.
This is where you can click to open and close the cabin door:
Form the outside it is much clearer where you need to click: (this is using the Ctrl+F8 dev-cam)
It's just a bit annoying that the simulation is paused and that the door doesn't open right away. So you can click the door in developer camera but nothing will happen until you switch the camera and unpause the sim again.
But you can indeed open all doors with this:

Is it possible to also be able to open the cockpit door?π

Right now the cockpit door is not modeled to be opened, no.
-
I would be very happy to see that done at some later timeππ»

Obviously this is not the final version.
Nice try, but still a lot to be improved around this. Couldn't be possible to think adding some sort of cliskspots for each of the doors?.

You can do a lot, but we typically only do things that we don't have to remove later. So yes, you can make clickspots, e.g. on the ECAM door page that you could click to open each door, but you can't do that in real life so there is no real point of simulating this, just cause you could. I'd prefer that when I roll to the gate that stairs are automatically moved to my aircraft, that the doors open on their own (simulated cabin crew) and that I can stay in the cockpit without caring about the doors, just like a real pilot would do. Or maybe I get to walk around in the cabin and then when I make my way to the door I can use the door handle to open it, which is somewhat possible now, with the way it's set up.

Jan:
I tend to agree with what you're saying, but opening with the developer camera is somewhat tricky and, as you said, unreal, since you'll have to wait until pausing the sim.

Hi Ed,
yes, it is not ideal yet but it also doesn't make sense to try and fix this issue by trying to create a work around, when we could just do it correctly when the time comes to do this. There may still be other features that need to be completed first (e.g. pressurization?) so I would not consider this opening door feature finished, don't worry we will make it more user friendly. If you don't want to use it right now just forget that I added this in
