The link is perfetly ok for me, sad story indeed, this summer looks like not the best to fly, 4 incident to my knowledge (the crash of an Embraer at Take off in Mexico, Depressurization of a B737 of Ryan Air in flight, Theft of a Q400 and now this)

The number of incidents could be similar but it may get more media attention, so it is perceived as increasing.
