Awesome, thanks for pointing this out, had no idea it existed.
-
Me too. How big is this DLC? The Swiss complete? North, South, East and West?
-
Is this already as download because I do not find it on Orbx
-
-
You can find this freeware product here https://orbxdirect.com/product/swisscultivation-afs2
It is78 MB and appears to cover all of the IPACS Swiss DLC.
When it rains, it pours.

Just fly quickly on it, realy good job especialy in big towns. ORBX don't forget us finaly
-
I just wish somebody could control those wild trees. They're everywhere!
I've gotten to the point now, where I often fly in the SIM with the trees turned off, because things are just too crazy.

How does it compare with your cultivation? From the pics it seems the houses do not have texture, so it's not as good as yours?

Traumhafte neuigkeiten, kommt es auch über Steam???

@drassaud I thank you for your cultivation that was very great of you! Funny how these things work in terms of timing. I am also glad that ORBX decided to release for free. Hopefully this can attract some other people to give AF2 a chance, meaning more momentum for ORBX DLC involvement.

Didn't you even ask on the ORBX forum if they were still working on it and Sylvain told you that it'll probably never come out?
-
It is important to mention that, to enjoy drassaud or ORBX Switzerland cultivation - both excellent - you MUST buy IPACS fantastic Switzerland DLC in Steam store : otherwise you will only see cultivation over low resolution mesh and textures !

Sylvain was asked by multiple people and responded in this thread:

"Hello Pascal, Unfortunately, this project is on hold for the moment. No idea if it will be delivered one day."
So drassaud came to the rescue since many of us have waited a year for this (originally) promised cultivation.

Traumhafte neuigkeiten, kommt es auch über Steam???
Yes I thought Steam was the preferred medium of distribution for AFS2.
How does one get freeware into a Steam install?
-
First of all ! I want to thank Sylvain for this Cultivation, which finally free this ORBX scene.
Now if I can afford, in terms of product quality, drassaud does not have to blush, quite the contrary!
Without being critical, personally I prefer that of drassaud,
tree locations are much more precise and less general error,
if you take as an example: The highway Morges-Lausanne you will see many trees in the middle of this highway. Why? I do not know?
Because apparently, both have used OpenStreepMap. Or maybe it is the basis of IPAC that is not defined exactly.
But there is a big difference in precision and placement.
But in any case, in the end, we all have a Switzerland more beautiful than basic!
Once again THANK YOU to drassaud and Sylvain for their dedication and their free time!

Tomfa

I guess both have the same default tree distribution from IPACS. You can turn this off by removing the file cultivation from the scenery folder. Replacing the trees in Aerofly FS2 is a much bigger project than setting houses. The OSM data is good for forests and maybe also some smaller groups of trees but there is almost nothing related to gardens with bushes etc. The default trees are not only misplaced but often too high and of the same height, and it is usually the same mixture of leafs and conifers. Above a certain altitude you'll find no leafs anymore, just conifers. I have done a small region around Berne airport, rather a test. The additional step is adding single trees and rows in e.g. JOSM (where I have a lot of memory problems). To do this manually for larger regions is an awful lot of work. It would maybe work with a joint project of people in this forum. Or by having the orthophotos and run the detection process from ScenProc.
