  • Be careful where you add your . I asked a simple question to measure the interest in a crop duster and Hartman posts one of his favorite planes. This is a distant cousin of the PZL M-18 Dromader - Dusty the Crophopper from Piston Peak National Park. Yep, you guessed it, Dusty is a Disney character that acquired his fame when the fuel truck (I can't remember his name) accidently loaded him up with Jet A. A short rip roaring flight ensues with several low level near misses and overtaking a jet fighter then ends with Dusty making a dead stick landing that used every last centimeter of runway.

Dusty gets drafted into racing and is very successful, especially for a stock crop duster. He comes back home, gets injured, but volunteers to be updated with floats, actually an amphibian, and goes off for duty as a water bomber fighting forest fires. I do not have any information at the Amphibian Water Bomber Dusty, but it certainly sound interesting. :S:/:rolleyes:

Krzysk dusted off his FS1 Dusty and voila, Dusty is now flying, quite well actually, in AFS2. I couldn't find the specs and performance but it is on the high end of the curve. Fully functioning airplane, low wing, fixed-gear, big turbine engine spinning a 3-bladed prop, no vc, really good sound package, smooth, high performance.

Dusty is not available for public release just yet, but, he will be once the beta testing is complete. Fun Factor for4 year olds = 5+

  • Krztsk sent me the Sorken SG 28 glider for a look see. This is just about as basic as one can get. Great view from up front and noise free. Made me think about the possibility of having an Air Creation Trike Ultralight or something similar for FS2.

I was reading the history of this glider last night and read it was the primary trainer for the Lufwaffe. Using bungee cords for launch off the mountainside. 10,000 was built in Germany alone.

I would think this one should be easy enough for final ckeckout. Ailerons proper direction, elevator proper direction, rudder proper direction, seat belt working. Complete. Ready to fly. 8o

  • I was a little surprises at the amount of interest in the SG 38 glider. I made my standard google search and read and translated for more than a few minutes.

hmmm. Looks like we might need more than a few hours of beta testing prior to release. :( Until fixed, you can use 4 or 5 presses of the "Instant Up" button on the lower right of the screen with the Control Elements turned On. This will get you up in the air even higher than 10 Germans pulling a big rubber band. :)

    5 clicks = 3310 ft

We will post when the fix is made for a new download.

    HiFlyer,

This glitch has now been fixed along with adding the missing left horizontal stabilizer. You can download the latest update at GitHub.
