This problem has existed for more than a year now. Surely someone knows how to fix it. The R-22 will land on the deck but I think everything else is an instant crash as soon as it touches the deck.
Thanks.

The 3d model probably just needs fixing and a fresh export.

Thanks Jan, sounds right. Who owns the 3D model of the Eisenhower? Anybody?
Anyone know who claims the rights to the Eisenhower Aircraft Carrier? Anyone know what exactly needs to be corrected to null the crashes?
Ray
The model was submitted by whitav8 , 'Dave W.'
Original model created by ' Javier Fernandez '
DaveW has not been very active lately. I suggest we press for some IPACS assistance and give credit to both as when uploaded. It worked originally until one of the FS2 updates broke it.
I started at the beginning of 2019 with the aircraft carrier to try addan_programming of the AFS2. Since I have programmed several things for private use in the meantime, I also wrote to whitav8 regarding the rights. Unfortunately I didn't get an answer
My projects so far are:
Airplanes could stand on all ships -- but only unfortunately not on the aircraft carrier (only the R22 could stand there).
I also sketched the runway on the aircraft carrier and ideas for take-off and landing.
USS Eisenhower, USNS Laramie an USNS Patuxent in Naval Base Coronado (San Diego):
I'm pretty sure something in the 3D model can explain the strange behavior with the wheels, since all other 3d models seem to be fine to land on. Like a double sided face or a duplicated carrier deck geometry or sth. like that. It could also be an issue with the decals, which seem to have a collision as well, though they really shouldn't.
Are you sure that the model was actually created by whitav8 ? Maybe he used a stock model from somewhere which you could do, too?
Is there any of our in-house developers interested enough and capable of making a new conversion of an aircraft carrier that would be friendly to rubber tires and would float on FS2 water?
We can't make a new conversion without the original files, so no.

The original files for the USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower v2 that is compatible with all windows flight sims except AFS2 is available for free download here: https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/8/203
The installer is automatic so when I unzipped the files all I have is the one EXE file. Stuck on step 1a.
I have the downloaded zip file on my hard drive and will send to link to anyone that wishes to take a crack at this. It is 23 MB.
