Question about Navigation in the Pitts

  • Stunt plane is yellow press speech. We do Aerobatics or "Kunstflug", that means flying art. ;)

Some times you have to fly the plane from one airfield to another. But nowadays we have gps systems, possibly portable one that you don't need to take with you flying aerobatics. Less weight, more power. That is, why there is no VOR device in the Pitts.

The radio you mentioned where you can select a VOR frequency is a combination device. Possibly this one was available or cheaper or whatever the owner of the plane comes in mind to install it into his Pitts. Pitts are very often home build planes and nearly nothing is standard.

    Wish for Aerofly FS 2:

    - Flightpath recording on hard drive and replay in sim from different view points

    - Smoke for aerobatic planes

    - Multiplayer or at least watching other people flying sitting on ground or inside tower

  • There is no navigation receiver or any instruments in the Pitts because it is just a stunt plane

The 'plane owner' is IPACS and it seems they added it by mistake...? Maybe they can remove it since it has no use at all.

Why? If the original plane is equipped in this way I would not remove it.
