NEW!!! The PA-28R Turbo Arrow III / IV (for AFS 2) available for sale at JustFlight

  • I can't see any tooltip text telling me that altitude hold is engaged. When I press the mouse wheel (middel-button-click) nothing happens regarding hold mode. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Oh my.. I reworked the manual from the FSX one and have missed that one..

The original AP does not have an altitude hold. The FSX version has it, but I decided to go ahead with "as real as possible". It's relativly easy to trim the plane into level flight and nobody complained about it while testing.

  • You have to turn on the Ap with the left button. It's a bit tricky, as the yoke is in the way. I usually quickly hide it to turn on the AP. There is unfortunately nothing to do about it, the clickspots are all correct in place, so it's just the design of the plane.

    Hope it helps..

Thanks! The buttons didn't respond when I tried it the first time, but I tried it again with the yoke hidden and it works fine now.

Still miss the cold and dark tho;)

I also read in another post that the manual was wrong regarding the AP. I think there's something wrong with the numbers showing the buttons in the panel with the battery and landing light switches too?

  • Hi Ronny,

Yes, the problem is the clickspot of the yoke (it's mainly needed for the touch controllers). It's in the front of the AP button, so the mouse "finds" the yoke. But as I said, nothing to do about it.

Thanks for pointing the switches in the manual out, I'll have a look. I must admit, I made that part around 3.00 a.m. in the night, in order to get it ready... So it's possible that I made a mistake.

  • Congratulations. First impressions: Fantastically designed aircraft. The details are stunning. I love to fly it.

I run the manifold pressure just below 29 and the rpm at 2100; I find the sound much better at that regime. It sounds a little to strident at higher rpm. My opinion only.

Thank you very much for the nice feedback, Sylvain :)

I think, I'll grab my Oculus Rift and fly the Arrow a bit by myself (something I haven't done for month) and try your powersettings. Maybe I can do something with the sound mapping.

Can you damage the engine if you run RPMs too high or otherwise overheat the engine? Is that type of behavior modeled in any aircraft in this sim?

    No, unfortunately not yet.

  • I am just installing it and found a minor flaw: The installer says "Duchess Model 76" on one of the initial pages and shows a corresponding image,

    Kind regrads, Michael

  • Just made my first flight, and it's a really nice plane. I very much like the working GPS, something which is still badly missing from the default C172.

As some others, I would acknowledge a cold&dark startup mode, if this is possible.

I've got a pretty good one so far for the iii - try this .tmd file.

I put a comment "// changed from" then the values just above each line for each setting I changed.
