How accurate is the a320 modelled now compared to 2016

  • Hi just bought the arrow but I want to try to learn the a320 as well. Love the huge cockpit in VR! How accurate is this model compared to some other models i

I don't want to start a discussion about 320's in other some but I was wondering, since there have been quite some updates for the Sim and for the 320 in particular, how good this airliner currently is.

Also I want to give the sound a little boost and I know there is a commercial product to enhance the sound. Is it worth it?

    Thanks a lot!

  • The A320 is slowly getting there. At this moment it's better than any default airliner in any other sim but it's not as good as payware addons yet. What does work, works as it should and pretty well too but quite a few things are still missing. It's a bit in between 'regular default' quality and payware quality. Imho. It's getting closer to payware quality bit by bit but don't expect it to ever become FSL quality.

BTW I was talking about the simulated systems. If you were talking about the accuracy of the 3D model: almost every button, switch, knob and screen is where it should be. The model is a good representation of the real deal (afaik based on the Aerosoft A320 model).

  • is the q400 better and more professional system wise?

System wise the A320 may be a bit more advanced: it has some more functions working in the MCDU than the Q400 has in the FMS. So when it comes to systems and 'professionality' you could say the A320 is the better plane right now and the Q400 comes second. Imho the Q400 is far more interesting to fly though and to me it feels like the better plane. This also may have to do with the fact that the Q400 has less options in real life than the A320 so in percentages the Q400 has MORE things simulated. ;) I myself use the Majestic Q400 checklist to fly it which says something.

  • And the Learjet? Any opinion on how good it is compared to A320 and Q400 ?

I have to say that I love AFS2 but it is slightly disturbing to see how some planes are incredible and others are, say, not so seriously done. Unless I am completely wrong and I missed something, the F15 has a completely unrealistic rate of climb.

Yes, it certainly is a bit of a mixed bag: a few well simulator planes and a few basic simple flying models.

  • Surprised nobody talked about the lack of cold and dark functionality on the A320.. That's a deal breaker for me and so I usually lean towards the q400.. I've gotta be able to shut the engines down after a flight.. Without that it just feels incomplete, no closure..

  • Is the hydraulic stuff so far simulated that if you press the button for turning it off that actually nothing happens whenever you use the joystick? And is it only the steering components in the air or also the brakes or the steering on the ground?
