I'm trying to do some navigation using ADF in the UK but the ADF needle doesn't respond no matter how close I am. Same in Europe. Same in the the C172 as well as other aircraft. Works fine in the US though. Anyone else seeing this?

Which version of Aerofly do you use?
Steam or DVD/Aerosoft?

Thanks, and are you opted into in the Aerofly FS 2 steam beta or not?

whilst testing my ADF I do get a reading when monitoring the ADF bearing output, in rads of course. In the UK
ADF needle still refuses to move unless very close.
Using Steam and Beta

Thanks Steve. There's nowhere else to detect ADF than the needle is there? Are you saying that with some under the bonnet diagnostic tools you can see the ADF being registered but this doesn't get translated to needle movement that anyone would see.

Hi Jan from sunny Madeira.
When I was using the monitoring tools tuning to local ADF did show correct frequency and a bearing readout in radians. ADF coding looked fine and gauge needle works ok with VOR and Localizer, ADF needle refuses to work until very close to station. From memory Q400 worked fine, unable to test until Saturday.

ADF just worked fine for me on a flight in South East England. Maybe a fix has been put out or I just got lucky.

On a related theme does the ADF work on the 747?, there is nothing to be found in a forum search.
I know about the selector switches and the different nav pages. The 747 used to do ADF only guess autoswitching with a permanent false 417.00 frequency displayed.
