There are so many unrelated items to get accomplished to bring this to market and any one could derail any published scheduled date. I am not in control of a single one of them, but, I'm confident a best effort date could coincide with my birthday for no other reason than it is a Saturday. So in a couple of weeks, if all goes as planned, we will start some sort of countdown. Hang in there. As LarryLynx stated above, it should be well worth the wait.

I just heard today there are plans to add a few (free) extras to the package. These would not be directly related to ATC, per se, but, more along the lines of new and innovative things that would give us pleasure while getting ready to fly and getting ready to land. No promises here, but, any new introductions should be well received.

So wait, the big thing that supposedly IPACS has been working on for years is suddenly a paid third party DLC? Was this IPACS' plan the whole time?

Is IPACS still working on this functionality? If so, can you give us an idea on the status of it? Is it now going to have to compete with this third party DLC?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is disappointed in how long it is taking to get it into AFS2 (evidenced by the existence of this third party implementation??)

As Jeff stated, this is a parallel effort and totally independent of anything IPACS may be working on. BTW it is not a DLC.

I suppose that depends on what you think DLC stands for. In my book 'DLC' equals 'add on': both have to be bought online, downloaded and installed and bring new content to the sim. The main difference is (or may be) where it is being sold: an add on bought through Steam is usually called DLC while an add on bought from another online shop of from the developer itself is usually called 'add on'. In the end it's all the same.

Down Loaded Content can be free or paid, it's just extra content that can be downloaded, we'll see what the team come up with. Sounds intriguing.

Yes, I realize it is now November and time for a progress report. I am going to go out on a limb and do some predicting on the release date. Remember, I have absolutely no control over the if and when, but, I do understand it is on short final, as they say, for release.

This could happen as early as today, tomorrow, or in a few days, maybe even on my birthday this coming weekend. The release could also run into some unknown and unplanned obstacle and never be released. These are all things to consider when discussing the future.

But, if you are ready, have your credit card handy and keep a close eye on the forums. My understanding is the release announcement will be in these forums.

The latest wrinkle is there is talk of a 7 day free trial period so you may be flying with ATC sooner than you think.
