Gentlemen
As the week progresses, I will see if I can pull something together that assists in navigating the UK files. It will not be a file repository, simply a guide with maps and links. I will place it online at one of my numerous websites, and let you known when done.

Thanks Thomas, that is exactly what is needed. I used AeroScenery and ArcGIS to make some HD scenery around the Newcastle airport but, it came out too dark. I will need to tweak the sliders and do it again after I installed the adjacent scenery pack.

EGNT ( NEWCASTLE) just finished it if you would like it. and there is more bridges too for city centre. the swing bridge and the high level bridge .
What trick do I use to get the slightly floating and slightly sunken planes onto the surface?
The corrections of [autoheight] false/true were unfortunately not successful.
Thanks, Tschüss, Michael (III)

Aah, so it looks like the autoheight bug is not yet fixed in live, you need to be in steam beta channel FS2

Can I suggest you don't use the sliders in "AeroScenery", leave them all at default zero. Editing can then be done with the downloaded images. Regards Michael.

Thanks for your answer, so we Mac users will have to wait a little longer.

This scenery that I am talking about is AutoScenery that I downloaded as higher definition scenery in the airport area. It co-exists with your scenery.

Just to let you know, I have not forgotten this project. In fact, I am in the process of building a whole new flightsim website, and this project will be incorporated into it. In short, it might be a few weeks away. Perhaps before then Michael will have finished the rest of the UK too. Will keep you posted.

Progress is slowing down mainly due to the fact that all providers of images are poor quality. I'm now using all three to make "patch work quilts" for each tile. I did some sums and on average per "line of scenery" (6 tiles) there are over 140 individual images that I have to hand edit. Some of those individual images can have up to 20 clouds and associated shadows which all have to be sketched around and then "cut out" and replaced with good scenery.
This doesn't include the time spent on making the cultivation.
Realistically I think its going to be the New Year before we see any completion of this mammoth project.
Michael.

You could reduce the number of pictures to 1/4, if you change the setting here from 32 to 64:
The number of errors, color differences and clouds will remain the same, but according to Schnuffelduffel, the work goes faster.

Michael... Your steady drip of UK scenery is somewhat akin to a drug! Can't wait for the next fix, and begin to get withdrawal symptoms during the wait! Good on you mate!

North Wales Revisited
I decided to re make all of North Wales, some 6 tiles, this time using ArcGIS as the main provider and hand editing with pieces from both Bing and Google.
In my opinion this new work offers better colour and contrast compared to the washed out colours in the original upload.
I will share it on Flight-sim.org in the next day or two.
Michael.
