....this Morning I powered my MAC up and looked into updates, and guess what I found:
AF FS 2 update
... to me this came more or less unexpected and unannounced or did I miss something?
In any case, it made my day!!
It didn't come quite unexpectedly - but apparently the Apple employees first flew around for quite a while with enthusiasm and forgot to release the update for us.

... on the iPad FS2 2020, the 777 was already just outstanding
... but on a 27" MAC with yoke and the other hardware ist is just spectacular to fly!!

I do not want to appear ungrateful;-), but as we saw the successful maiden flight of the 777-X yesterday....., wouldn't it be great to have this new aircraft also in FS2?
... just add a little foldable wingtip here and there;-)
... add a little stretch to the fuselage
and off we go

Would be kinda cool if you could somehow modify it with little extra work.

That's actually not that difficult in Aerofly FS, since all aircraft are modular and things like the wings are easy to adjust actually.
The B737-800NG would mean designing a completely new 3D model, there are just too many differences. And at that point I'd prefer a more modern airliner like the 737-8 Max, an Embraer 195 E2, A220 or maybe an A350 or B787?

We already have a few new aircraft in the pipeline though which I think will extend the fleet quite nicely. And we've had polls in the past or the typical: "I would to see like this or that aircraft" and they usually end with everybody listing all aircraft that ever existed.

It's indeed too soon to tell. I'm not sure either.

I see your point, but maybe if you do the
737 MAX 8 you could do the 737-800 after that. The only differences are :
1. The engines and how they’re mounted
2. The longer nose gear
3. The MCAS
4. The cockpit
5. Fly by wire for the spoilers (speed brakes)
6. And the APU paneling
I mean the list is not to long, so it’s maybe worth considering it, as so many people asked for the b737-800 and it still will be flying for a long time.

...this is weird.
I got it during the weekend thru the "update" section in the App Store on my MAC.
This however does only work, if you have FS 2020 installed in the first place (forgive me this remark;-). But you should also get it thru a fresh installation

...so this would actually surprise me, as the update is already available in the App Store because I was able do get it.
The only situation I could possibly think of, that would create a different picture on other MAC's might be thru different IOS versions.
I do use Catalina, but I honestly do not believe, that the update does require Catalina.

I think he confused the Mac App Store with the iOS App Store here. The mobile version is also getting an update soon, he probably just confused the two forums which also happens to me from time to time
