Anyone know about these hash marks along runways

Just curious as to the purpose of the diagonal and hash marks along these runways and taxiways. I don't find them in the standard markings guide. This is a USA airport.

I think this area counts as overrun area which at the end of the runway would be yellow arrows up until the threshold.

But it's probably a question for the aviation stack exchange

They are 'unusable' because these 'hashmarks' designate non-load bearing surfaces.
