Hi,
Is there an easy way that I can start AFS2 without VR (shortcut on desktop)?
Merci
copy the shortcut you already have, right click properties and edit the target: "... /aerofly_fs_2.exe -othervr"
For me the vanilla aerofly_fs_2.exe shortcut would not work with -othervr
However the target
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 434030 -othervr
does work.
I forget how I discovered the 434030

So far the Sim starts well. Is it normal for Steam to start in the background and SteamVR too?
My entry is as follows; "E: \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator \ bin64 \ aerofly_fs_2.exe" -othervr
Steam always needs to start on the background to check if you have a valid copy of aerofly.
Copy, Thank you Jan.
The -applaunch 434030 style shortcut does not start the Steam client or SteamVR
Good information lenidcamper.
As I found out, this is AFS2's SteamID.
Question about this; are there no problems when I start the Sim with the command -applaunch 434030? I just don't want to have any problems with IPACS and my purchase version ?!
Ev. can Jan say anything else?
thank you
When you edit your shortcut for Aerofly what does it currently say? And then just add " -othervr" in the target field...
Hello Jan,
Your note with the keyboard shortcut aerofly_fs_2.exe -othervr worked perfectly. I can now start the simulator without VR.
Apparently you misunderstood something or I didn't express myself clearly; I wanted to know if there were any problems if I used the lenincamper tip, so if I used -applaunch 434030 -othervr, there would be problems from Steam or IPACS license. Not that it destroys me on PC, Steam or the license.
Can I load the Sim without problems instead of with -applaunch 434030 -othervr?
The background to my question is that with the tip from lenincamper I can save resources if Steam is not also running ...
thank you for the effort
The -applauch approach works without any issues.
I have been using this for at least a year.
The only difference is that you can avoid the overhead of the Steam client launching (with a confirmation dialog.)
Much cleaner way to launch AFS2 with Oculus
