Accessing the menu from VR

Is there a convenient way to access the menu when using the simulator in VR? Currently what I do is click the Oculus button, click the desktop button in the Oculus menu, enable the keyboard and press ESC. There must be a better way...

Basically what I'm asking is, is there a way to bind the ESC key to something on the controller?

I'm using Oculus Rift S.

You can assign a button on your controller in Controls/Game control, second line 'Back'

Assigned movement to a 4-way HAT too on my X52 Pro so I can move around the Lynx cockpit for the start up sequence....

When you have controllers just press and hold the menu button for 2 seconds to get back to the main menu.

Otherwise you can assign a joystick button that works along side with the esc key.
