Last night we added even more new animations for our Oahu Scenery. Our resident animation guru just keeps breaking new ground with innovated and just plain nifty new movements and motions. Brunnobellic has added flocks of realistic flying seabirds for realism all along the coastlines and following the returning fishing boats.
yesss!! I'm so excited. Keep it coming!
Will those birds mean it might not run under Vulkan? As seen with other recently added airport animations? Or is that already solved?

I made the new birds for this scenery and it runs in vulkan now so all good
Yes Vulkan is a choice now. We also have several levels of PC CPU/GPUs that can be chosen prior to Hawaii Scenery startup that you select by clicking on a batch file. The same for increasing or deceasing levels of animation for the wide choices of graphic cards and memory. Most importantly for many of the folks that come to FS2 for the helicopters and the VR, we have a preset VR startup mode.
Be sure to read the installation and operating instructions. If you choose to fly blind based on your vast experience and superior knowledge you will most likely run into trouble or at least will not be flying with the optimum settings. This is not your grandmother's addon scenery.
Oh, btw, I think 'today is the day'.

Might take an hour or two." ZoSoChile (Jake)
ok I'm new to all this pc stuff. Is this going into the "places" folder?
I currently have a Hawaii location I downloaded about 3 weeks ago. (Hawaiian_islands_kauai_niihau_v3)
My question is do I just still add this file into "places" regardless of having the other Hawaii download? Or should i delete it and add this one? Again sorry I'm a greenhorn.
You will see a detailed installation instruction on the flightsim.org page of Oahu.

Oahu is a separate addon. No need to tamper with Kauai_niihau folders.
Instructions will be on the page once finished uploading.
Downloading...and I have all night today to check it out.
Thanks again to everyone involved!!!

Great. Let us know how it goes.
Oahu is now available for downloading. Be sure to pay attention to the instructions and notes. It is a large download so be prepared.
Ok I'll look up orthos (part 2) and get it installed.
It is little more involved than that. Read the installation instructions and if it is not crystal clear come back with your question. The main file for Oahu is indeed goes in your places folder, but you need the new orthos (part 2) to be in your images folder, you will need to check for your elevation files, etc. Installation will be very similar to your Kauai installation.
I tried looking for orthos via google but I couldn't find a download. I might have misunderstood you. Is this some kind of file I need to download and place in images folder?

This is part of the package.
