I would have visited this airport in 2020 but then lockdown happened and my vacation was canceled... too bad.
"scenery/places" is not the correct folder for airports anymore...
Please use scenery/airports to avoid slowing down simulation startup.
The folder should then also be called "lpfr_faro" so that aerofly can correctly pair the user made scenery with the known airport from the database.
All files should be converted to lower case and files like "Aeroporto+de+Faro.tsc" should not contain any plus characters (instead use underscore) or other special characters.

Hello Jet-pack thank you for the tip I will change that now .
I am hoping to go to faro next year for a holiday and stay in alvor so nice there.

Thank you for this added airport but I miss the surrounding Algarve-scenery in acceptable resolution, is anyone willing to make image-files in at least ZL12 ?

For example: fscloudport.com automatically produces all ICAO codes - in capital letters.
Do all ICAO airport codes have to be written in lower case according to the new "rules" - to be registered by the internal database - "to avoid slowing down simulation startup"?

The export of fscloudport doesn't yet follow the rules then. All folder should be lower case and without any special characters and without any spaces.
Airport folders should start with the lower case ICAO code followed by underscore and English airport name (all lower case, with underscores as needed).
In the tsc file of the airport the same ICAO code is written in capital letters.
Airports that don't have a real world ICAO code can use a fantasy six digit code but aerofly probably will have to open the airport's TSC file to know where it is located in the world. Aerofly will happily load them into the database so that they can be loaded quickly when needed.

Work is in progess. I'm doing the Algarve-scenery with ZL16 and a resolution of 2.4m (level 13) and a bit higher with 1.2m (level 14) for the area around the airport.
Will share it soon on flight-sim.org.

Many thanks : )

Thank you Colin and Christophe for the wonderful airport and the ortho images.
I tried the new naming scheme and found the following working fine:
Detailes from the airport folder itself:
All additional files like animation and terminal work fine this way.
Even the trees, which maybe I better should have located to places/cult

IPACS has designed more airfields in FS4 than in FS2, including LPFR. And so in FS4 the LPFR airfield published by brunnobellic on Flight-Sim.org for FS2 collides with the airfield designed by IPACS. One effect is that when both variants of LPFR are uploaded in parallel, the buildings are not visible.
My solution in this case is that I do not take over the airfield downloaded from Flight-Sim.org for FS2 from @ brunnobellic in FS4, but only the variant from IPACS here.
I am always a little torn about such a decision, because someone has done the work to offer us users something nice.

Thanks guys, I removed the airport from Bruno and installed the two Europe DLC's, a basic LPFR airport is visible now
