CTD on my way from KLAS to KDEN, AMD graphics card and Vulkan

Hello,

I was flying from Las Vegas McCarran to Denver International using an A320. Shortly after passing the DVC waypoint I switched to external view and the program crashed to desktop.

I have a Dell Inspiron 7775 all-in one system with a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, 16 GB RAM, an 8 GB AMD graphics card (RX 580), driver version 22.1.2 (January 18, 2022).

I was running the program at 3840 x 2160 pixels with Vulkan, all options maxed out, got fairly constant 70 fps inflight.

The tm.log file is attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

When you start your flight at Denver does the airport load properly?

when I choose KDEN for departure, everything looks normal. I have attached a screenshot of KDEN.

Unfortunately it happens with AMD newest drivers. Try to find the oldest driver that you find ...

which driver is old enough? I have also x-plane 11 installed on my computer and Vulkan support requires at least the driver version 19.12.3.

Would that work with Aerofly?

Haven’t there been multiple reports of a dead/crash zone just south west of Denver? Was it ever fixed?

We can confirm that Aerofly FS 2 indeed crashes when using Vulkan on AMD GPUs. We are not sure what is causing this and unfortunatly it depends on the installed driver and if user content is installed as well. We mostly observe the issue when switching from outside to inside view, but we were not able to pinpoint the issue to what is causing it.

In our upcoming Aerofly FS 4 we have revised the overall rendering workflow slightly and here we so far don't see any issues. We hope to be able to run open beta tests soon, so we can get some more feedback.

For some reason, I haven`t had any Vulkan issues with my AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 integrated GPU since V22 of the Radeon driver was released, currently on 22.3.1. Before that, 20.9.2 was the latest working version.

With the newest Asus OEM drivers of my my notebook, Aerofly always crashes when trying to use Vulkan.
