Having used just the Windows calibration for ages and ages I tried the FS2 program’s calibration and found that the joystick was much smoother over a wider range of movement. It had been nasty outside the centre.
(I had been averse to the unlabelled top right calibration icons on the FS2’s device calibration page, one of which erases previous joystick settings. Far right is for re-calibration).
