Does it always happen just before you land of does it happen after a long flight when you get close to a highly detailed airport?
If you start your flight on the approach does the screen go black?
Hi,
I had a similar effect several times with my Reverb G2. For example with the Ju 52 approaching Innsbruck first one side went black, then both. After some seconds of „blind“ flying the scenery reappeared. I first thought it was a hardware defect of my Reverb, but it only happens with Aerofly FS4. I have the impression that the effect is limited to certain aircraft and it does not happen very often.
Regards,
Ludger
If you decrease graphics quality settings does this not happen anymore?
I will try that, but it only happened about 5 times in 10 hours so it is difficult to provoke.
With the G2 there is a known issue where displays may flicker or go black when playing certain titles at high volume levels. There is a firmware fix out, but I still occasionally get black screens when volume is too high usually combined with deep bass from the game. After a period of time the screens come back on.

The solution for me has always been to lower the volume. I would suggest the op do the HP Reverb G2 firmware fix, and/or try lowering volume and see if it makes a difference.
Hi Duckhat,
thank you very much for the info. So most likely the speakers draw more current than the Reverb power supply can provide. I would not have thought of that as a possible cause…
Kind regards,
Ludger

Hi There & thanks for your response.
Its a tricky one - this only ever happens just before touchdown, never any other time, Probably happens about 50% of the time. If the scenery is complex or sparse seems to make no difference, It goes black but sound persists, usually for about 5-10 seconds
The sim has zero performance issues ever. I do have everything turned up to max.
I haven't tried to start on approach but will let you know,
FYI just happened to me when doing circuits at EDDF. 2 circuits it happened, two circuits it didn't happen.
In the R22 (as always)! This has happened in the EC135 too though.
Thanks
