Hi. I was wanting to know whether my phone's processor, MediaTek Dimensity 8100 compatible with Aerofly's Vulkan Light shader? It has Vulkan API version 1.1.177 and driver version 32.1.0
Android Vulkan driver support

Hey, even if it is. Android is not getting the lighting because of the driver version being unstable. We would have to wait till the vulkan team makes more progress and chip manufacturers start using the latest vulkan driver version

This is the MTK Dimension 8100 chip,Every chip manufacturer of Android phones has a different gpu, which is why Google Mobile's self-developed chip can use dynamic night lighting. Maybe its gpu architecture and driver are different from Qualcomm's chips. You can try to check,
but,it certainly supports Vulkan

I have Snapdragon 870. I hope so....

It doesn't matter what GPU ( graphic processor ) you have, it really only depends on the driver support. Of course the GPU needs to be fast, but we found that the drivers are extremely bad. They are just not optimized for a high demand application like Aerofly FS.
-
One thing to consider that, not all are rich to buy ipads, iphones which have the max compatibility for anything. Nearly here, i think about 85% are android users. I use both iOS and Android. I understand the issues with Android. But, there must be a way to implement those light effects.

That won't have issues. The thing is, sd695 is a new processor for budget smartphones like g71 etc.. it has 619 adreno GPU,btw.

Oh. So the issue is mostly software based. Are the drivers of OnePlus good enough?

My OnePlus nord n200 works with the lighting but pretty badly

Oh, I have OnePlus 10R.

Well, it seems that the only way to find out is to play the sim. I am going to buy it right now.

@blendflightgeek: Yes, all the Vulkan issues we observed on Android are purely Software based, meaning that the GPU itself can handle it, the vulkan driver software however is not matured yet. It's an issue with so many different devices out there and each one of them requires dedicated software drivers.

I'm glad to report the night lights work in Vulcan mode on my Samsung S20 FE.
Its amazing to see the effects as I switch the taxi and landing lights on and off. The lights coming from parked aircraft at the stands makes it all come to life as well. I tried tried taxiing around Boston at night and its really a cool experience!
Theres some performance drop I would say ....I notice a slight shimmering on distant buildings and frame rate drop in Vulcan mode. But its very usable and opens up great options for routes that end at twilight or early evening. No need to time jump backwards any more before landing!

Yes lucky I guess ...I wonder if it means that all Samsung S20, 21, 22 etc users can expect the same?
Maybe someone will start a database of devices that are reported as working ok ....

I also use a samsung S20 Fe but I don't have the illuminate lights

I can start a database for it

Exynos 990 (7nm)s20fe:
OnePlus nord n200: it does support it but it has some performance drops
OnePlus 10R (MediaTek Dimensity 8100) : Works but has aliasing issues:
Tell me if your android device supports it and the processor name so I can add it to the database

Hello,i have a samsung device, and my game launcher and game booster doesn't identify fs2023 as a game. The game booster is really helpful because it gave me almost twice the fps on fs2022 and the previous versions.I don't know why it couldn't identify fs2023 as a game, but i think it is because fs2023 isn't listed under the FLIGHT simulation genre like all the previous versions.I know it is alot to ask,but can you please list aerofly fs2023 under the flight simulation genre.
