Does someone know what it means, if the HSI in the Learjet turns yellow?
That means the navigation sources on both HSIs are the same. If both nav sources are VOR1 for example then one of the two pilots could accidentally rotate their OBS knob which would affect both sides and the autopilot would fly a turn if VOR mode is active. And for an ILS approach it is better to use the two receivers with the same frequency for redundancy. If both pilots just use ILS1 for example then there is no redundancy.
