Just let the ideas drop into this thread, lets see what we can come up with😀

Moikka,
I have taken over the Carbon Cub from an other fellower a few years ago and have done some work on it. But, by best will, I don't have time to finish it.
So, if you are interested, I might pass it forward to you.
Cheers,Kai

Hello Kai!
Thanks for the message, would definitely be interested in that😀 Aerofly is a fantasic sim platform, and I think there is lots of potential for third party development. We could discuss this more👍

Alright, I have the Cub in FS4 now.
I had only to kill the engine, as it is an old code.
Jet-Pack (IPACS) Jan, for that gibe today morning you may fix it.aenbacka I'll write you a pm soon.
Cheers,
Kai

Looks beautiful, great work!😀 Been looking through the FS4 aircraft development docs the last few days.

Pleasure to see again beautiful images of your Carbon, Kai

Where is the documentation for the Aircraft SDK?
-
-
If you just want to get the 3d model into the simulator to check the graphics, simply copy the 'template.tmc' and 'template.tmd' files from the SDK's 'template' folder and rename them to 'xxxx.tmc' and 'xxxx.tmd' respectively.
It says this in the documentation, but I can't find the template folder in SDK. Using the files from the dr400 example also doesn't work out for me.

Make sure you use the latest version of the DR400 for FS 4: https://www.aerofly.com/developers/aircraft-sdk/
Please read the read-me file included in the download.

Have been exploring the Carbon Cub project, and first step is some texturing and instrument panel. Below a small render of the current instrument panel, still work in progress😀 Will need to figure out how to add avionics etc to it later.

Progress on the instrument panel for the Cub.

Hi aenbacka
In the end, it's is not Kai? It seems to me that the latter already had a panel on his CUB? Or is it a new model?
-
Id like a Cub, where can I get this one you's are developing....?

Hello,
This is the model which Kai has been working on, but due to limited time handed over to me. The interior on the model was not finished, so work on that part is now in progress (also exterior things like texturing will be improved on for Aerofly FS4).

It is very much in development yet, but I will report on the progress here as often as possible.

Might be faster to develop if you avoid having to implement LCD instrument/GPS panels since it does not seem that Aerofly FS natively supports this kind of functionality meaning you would have to do the coding yourself unless you do something really lame like just paste in the regular map overlay display like the default C172 does.

Yes it is true that the displays are not directly supported by the SDK, so might be wise to look at those at later stage.

Actually, if you are just now doing the 3D cockpit layout including instrument panel why put in the LCD center panel if you don't plan to actually code it up to work anyway. Just do regular steam gauge instruments and maybe VOR nav instruments along with the manipulators for them if you plan on supporting IFR .
