Wondering if there were any plans to add a direct to waypoint feature in the airliner FMC/MCDU.
I know we can just go manual heading mode to give ourselves shortcuts but it would be nice to go direct to clean up the flight plans on the ND

I would like to add this but unfortunately I actually don't have access to the code of the route. So this will have to wait until the developer for the route has time for this.
Ah ok that makes sense. It's a small thing anyway and as I say can use heading mode for now. Really enjoying FS4 and can't stop flying the 737-900 lately.
Is this related to why we are unable save a route? Route generation can be lengthy.
I had also asked for this feature already. It would be so cool! Also, proper route editing in the FMC.
Any other way to skip waypoints, or give a shortcut in the route?
If we use manual heading for a bit, does nav then go to the next/nearest waypoint on the route?
Do any aircraft have the 'direct to' option? I think it worked in the LJ45.
Airliners with FIX on the FMC can have a named fix entered and the bearing and distance of that fix is shown and continuously updated. A bearing from the fix can be shown and range rings can be entered for desired user defined or recently published waypoints. The old Aerofly database might not have the desired fix but a nearby or identical named fix can be substituted. A bearing and range ring from a named fix can establish any random point on the nav display.
A bearing and range ring point cannot show distance to go and track errors but the position on the nav display can be assessed.

Any idea when the developer will have the time? This is an important/needed feature, considering how advanced the new airliners are.
