Airport lights

  • Hello iPacs team,

Is there some way to add lights in airports where it is missing by editing some file on sim folder?

Particularly, I would like to add runway lights to SBRP airport, the city where I lived in Brazil and I know that airport operates during night time.

    Thank you

  • Yes, that's possible, I'll create something for that.

    Configurations:

    - MacBook Pro (16", 2024); Chip: Apple M4 Max; actual macOS
    - Controllers: | WinWing: URSA MINOR-Fighter-Joystick R | Thrustmaster TCA AIRBUS EDITION: 1x Joystick, 2x Quadrant, 2x Quadrant Add-On | Pro-Flight-Trainer: PUMA X | Logitech: Joystick G Extreme 3D Pro | Steelseries: Nimbus+

    - iPad (12,9", 4th Generation, RAM: 6 GB); actual iOS | Steelseries: Nimbus+

  • I have now taken a closer look at SBRP RIBEIRÃO PRETO / Leite Lopes in FS 4. In the STEAM version with "Global scenery = enabled" SBRP is, in my opinion, already quite well equipped:

    Hence my question:

    • Which lights do you specifically miss, what would you like to add?

It might be possible to implement an addition as a POI using simple text files. But first I need to know a little more precisely what you want to add.

Some runway lights and PAPIS are missing in some airports in Brasil

Thank you for your reply. Indeed the airport is well done but the runway and taxiway lights are missing.

  • So:
    - Basically, you can add the taxiway edge lights individually in a POI file, for example.
    - Unfortunately, there is a problem with the height positioning, because the objects do not sit on the surface using autoheigh, but rather hover x meters above it; so you would have to adjust the height of each lamp individually.:(

=> In my opinion, the only sensible way is for IPACS to integrate the missing objects directly into the airport file.:/

    Sorry.?(

No problem, thank you anyway! ;)
