You can also switch camera views to the winch to see the winch operator cockpit and the winch external model. It works the same as the camera views for pushback.

Thanks. The exterior view of the winch shows the glider up close, but it's still nice to see pictures.
The internal view of the winch is nicely detailed.
I looked at skylaunch.de to see if it is an electric winch?
In the past, but I think we still have winches with gasoline/diesel engines. I had a hard time finding a photo. This shows that the wheels of the winch were folded up so that it stood on iron legs. The rope cutter was operated by a counterweight placed on an inclined rod. In an emergency, the winch operator pulled out the anchor pin with a bowden, the weight pulled down the lever and a knife cut the rope. The rope was a twisted wire rope, so it had to be braided after the rope broke.

I had launches from a winch on the downstairs middle side of an old double decker bus. I never got a close look, it was too far to walk there and back.

Jet-Pack (IPACS) , are you already having the winch delivered to your office by helicopter?🤣

Okay, I'm sorry. I'm just interested in these technical things. I've never seen such a new winch up close, so I thought I'd take a look. You can't really say that I demanded that IPACS make the winch with 12 new liveries.
