Installing full fs4 PC version...

  • Dear all,

I purchased the full version, which includes additional aircraft from Steam and proceeded to the install.

About 50+GB were downloaded and then uncompressed and installed.

I did see the full fleet on the aircraft selection menu, and managed to initiate a flight from LPPT and surely there was Lisboa town scenery, but I wonder if it is default ir already based on the free Europe1 and 2 expansions?

Question: during the initial install of a full version purchase do the Europe and America expansions automatically get installed too?

  • HI and Welcome

In your Steam account (library) click on the FS4 Tab. Look in the righthand corner where it says, DLC, manage my DLC, click on that entry and it should take you to DLC tab, if they are all checked then they are installed.

  • Wow! That's HUGE !!!

I actually asked for a refund, a few days ago, but since I have apparently logged 2+ hrs I will have to stay with it in my Steam account, so, I'll do my best to enjoy, if & when I reinstall it...

Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to make the calculations :)  Markus R.

  • With the new 'streaming option', it's not necessary to install the free scenery DLCs which makes the installation much smaller ( around 70 GB ).

    Ah ok, it makes sense.

In the settings I remember I "ticked" something like a "online" option, that presented me a page with a description of the access to my data and so on and so forth...

Indeed I was puzzled to see such a great scenery for LPPT and Lisbon town and surroundings and asked myself how much better could it get with that Europe 1 & 2 DLCs, but that's because streaming is active and doing it's job - very smoothly btw !

    Thank you !

  • Exist also an iberia ortho scenery for afs4 in super high definition, same for italy.

In terms of performance and default mix of aircraft the afs4 is nr1. What is sad is that we have big lacks that avoid this flight sim rocket high to the top comparing with the other top dog ones.

    The lacks:

ATC, Dynamic weather from metar (including rain), navigraph database updates, load (pax/cargo/fuel) settings and usage (like engine stop when fuel goes zero).

Some of these lacks are not the end of the world to develop, some indeed very easy (like the load settings, others it could accept 3rd party softwares (like ATC).

Its really sad that we not have them not even on dreams because with these lacking features this flight sim could be a nr1 and a true competitor to others.

Until there is only a prety gorgeous simulator to have casual fun with VR.

  • Indeed stavka

I agree 100%... I had purchased AEFS 1, then 2, and skipped 4 until a few days ago...
