I was trying to install this addon for fs 4 (https://flight-sim.org/filebase/index…ion-2024-03-25/) but I have not gotten it to work, could someone maybe help me with that.
(I’m very new to Aerofly by the way)
Thank you in advance.

What type of computer do you have, Mac or Windows?
Have you already found the user folder on your computer?
Mac fortgot to add that
Yes I followed the path that you mentioned but I could not go to the airport when I opened the sim
/Users/julien/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/scenery/airports/eu_ch_airports___FS4-AIRPORTS_20240325
This is how I have it now
I downloaded it again on my Mac to test it...
... and it works for me in the path you specified.
In any case, I recommend shortening the downloaded directory name, e.g. to:
Then it should look like this:
And that should work -- at least it works for me.
I now have the path exactly the same as you but I still can’t choose (Thun LSZW) on the map for example?
Nope don’t know why
I only see Bern an Reichenbach which are part of the default scenery.
To narrow it down further:
- What version of FS 4 do you have?
- Do you perhaps have a different user directory?
Please make sure the folder name only has lower case letters and does not have two consecutive underscores "__". Two underscores at the beginning of a folder are typically used to disable a folder and it could be that the program just searches for two underscores in the folder name and not just at the beginning and then disregards the folder.
Do you see any errors in the tm.log file in your user directory?
Thanks for the tip about the two underscores "__" within a file or directory name. Because it is indeed the case that FS 4, for example in cultivation, also interprets two underscores in the file or directory name as "not to be considered".
As far as I can see I don’t have any double underscores, but I do have a lot of errors in the tm.log file I don’t know if they are related.
/Users/julien/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/scenery/ch
I also don’t have any upper case letters.

"eu_ch_airports___FS4-AIRPORTS_20240325" looks like a folder name with double underscores to me... please double check and rename it to "eu_ch_airports"
That I deleted yesterday and moved the airports into a folder named ch.
/Users/julien/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/scenery/ch/lszw_thun_airport
/Users/julien/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/scenery/ch/lszw_thun_airport
That is different to what I see from ApfelFlieger . Addons and scenery are same level, i.e. scenery is not a subfolder of addons.
I have just tried the LSGB BEX airfield again on my Mac exclusively in both permissible variants:
NOTE:
The areas marked in RED differ in the order of the subfolders!
Both variants work for me with the FS 4-STEAM version 4.05.01.07 (20240605)
I suggest that you, like me, "push aside" all other airfields and we concentrate on LSGB BEX. Then one of the two options should work for you.
I don’t have the steam version by the way. Does that change anything?
The basic principle of FS 4 is the same in both versions. The only difference I know of is the location of the directories.
I only have the STEAM version of FS 4, I'll see if I can see a difference in FS 2, of which I have both versions.

Which version do you use?
The one through the App Store
