  • If the folder does not exist yet, you must create it:

    • /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/aircraft/c172

Then insert the Liverie folder there:

    • /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/aircraft/c172/hb_cit

If the option.tmc folder is missing from the liveries, you will need to add it. You can do this by copying and pasting from another aircraft or create it yourself with a text editor, the code is:

    Code
    <[file][][]
        <[object][][]
            <[string8][Description][AIRCRAFT_REGISTRATION]>
            <[string8][Type][repaint]>
        >
    >

I replace AIRCRAFT_REGISTRATION with the registration of the model.

    Is this path correct?
    /Users/julienbosch-thomas/Library/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-4-mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/aircraft/c172/hb-cit

I copied a option.tmc file into the hb_cit file and changed the description from blue waves to hb_cit, what do I have to do next because it doesn’t show up in the sim?

IPACS recommends not using hyphens "-" in file and folder names. Therefore, the aircraft folder should be named "/hb_cit" instead of "/hb-cit".

And now it depends on whether "hb_cit" is just a livery variant or an independent aircraft:

    • For a standalone aircraft there are files that must be the same as the directory, here is a copy from the FS 4 itself:

    • Bei livery-Variantenmuss man darauf nicht achten:

Then maybe I have to frase it differently because when I follow this path (/Users/julienbosch-thomas/Library/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-4-mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/aircraft/c172/hb_cit) the aircraft folder is empty. The only folder with a c172 and other livery’s is the one in the system directory

I have now changed the hyphen to an under score.

Because does the livery for the c172 not have to go in the c172 aircraft folder ? The one with the default livery’s and the 3D model etc.

  • If there are no files in your "hb_cit" folder, then this folder is of course ineffective.

In my example "ch_hbcgb" you can see an example of a livery variant that creates a variant ...

    ... from the standard version

  • It works now thank you both.
The problem was that I had understood that the livery needed to be in this directory: /Users/<USERNAME>/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-4-mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/addons/aircraft/c172

But for me it need to be in this one:

    /Applications/Aerofly FS 4.app/Contents/Resources/aircraft/c172

Because there was no c172 in the aircraft folder. And the option file was missing the (2016) part

Now I think it should work in the future, thank you.

  • ... What matters is that the name you give in the "option" file is identical to the folder, otherwise the system will not recognize it. ...

In my FS 4 on the Mac, the name under “<[string8][Description][ NAME ]>“ does not have to be identical to the file name.

I would like to have a structured selection of aircraft variants in the user directory at least in my FS 4 and therefore I first sort the aircraft add-ons by the TDL of the countries, e.g. for the C-172:

However, the corresponding option.tmc files have these names:

    • <[string8][Description][HB-CGB]>
    • <[string8][Description][G-BXSM]>
    • <[string8][Description][N104PF]>

  • This combination works for me:

    (1) name of the folder ist "ch_hbcgb"

    (2) name in the option.tmc is "HB-CGB"

    (3) displayed in FS 4 "HB-CGB"

    (4) on the airfield

    41462-c172-hbcgb-png

For me it is "only" important that
    - the folder name of the aircraft type in FS 4 and in my FS 4 user directory are identical ("c172") and
    - I use the path /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/aircraft.

  • I have a similar problem. FS 4 with Mac AppStore Version, with plane package, but no addon aircraft can be installed. The user folder on my Mac is ~/Library/Containers/Aerofly FS 4/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 4/.

Very strange: The installation of an addon liveriy in .../aircraft folder (in the user folder) is no problem, it appears in the selection view of aircrafts in the sim. But installation of addon aircrafts in .../addons/aircraft or .../aircraft folder doesn't work for me, the addon aircrafts don't appear in the selection menu.

    Any ideas?

  • Please take a screenshot of an add-on for airplanes. I suspect that the option.tmc files are still missing. You can also find some information about this under SEARCH.

Unfortunately not. The option.tmc files are in every folder of an addon aircraft, an this option.tmc in the main aircraft folder has a corresponding option.tmc file in each livery folder. The entry under <[string8][Description][LIVERY_NAME]> is also correct, I checked this.

Maybe this is a problem with the AppStore Version in connection with the possibility of in-app-purchache of aircraft package (which I own, of corse ...)?

  • In my opinion, it would be easier to help with a screenshot that shows exactly (!)
    - in which directory exactly (!) the aircraft is saved,
    - what the exact (!) folder name of the aircraft folder is and
    - what exactly (!) the important files in this folder are.

That may sound fussy, but I've had it too often where it was just a single character that was only noticed in the screenshot.

  • I don't know if and how IPACS updates the version in the Mac App Store, because I'm now using the STEAM version.

In the Steam version, the DR400 is available in the "equipment" folder for use as an automatic tow plane. This version can be copied to the "aircraft" folder in your user directory.

I've done this, so the three missing files dr400_cold.tmd etc. are there, but unfortunately with no success. Maybe there will be another user with AppStore-Version, who read this here and crosscheck this sometimes..

It's not so important for me, so I give it up. Thanks for helping!
