    Hello guys,

For some reason the pan control mapped to the ministick on top of my "farmstick" is not working, even with its axes mapped correctly.

Do I need to do something else? I've tried two different joysticks, and even with axes mapped, it doesn't work. But works if I map a button or key instead.

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Does anyone have any tips?

Should it work with axes as well, no?

    Thank you!

    Hello iPacs Team,

Some workaround or suggestion so that I can use the analog ministick to control pan view?

    Thank you ;)

We've tested it with game-controllers and the view pan works fine there.

Just to confirm, are you using a joystick and not a game-controller for this?

    Regards,
    Jan

    Hello Jan,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have tested two different joystick models (TM Farmstick and a Turtle Beach Flight Deck) and both don't work. It is odd because I'm able to map their ministick axes, but they don't work in-game.

Ty and have a nice day

    Hello Jan,

If not asking too much, could you please show me the action you are mapping for these pan controls?
I'm mapping on General/Views/Pan. So I click on the horizontal bar and I move the axis. It is being registered, I can see the movement on green bar, but nothing on cockpit.

    Thank you

Pan via ministick is not working in my case as well. Mapping is working, I can see this in a Settings screen, however in flight it is not working. I had to remap this to a hat 4-position control. G940 Joystick.

But ministick works for me with "Look" settings. So, for ministick - "Look", for "Pan" - I Pov works.

Exactly as here. But I really would like to use the pan control, since the "look" returns to the initial pov.

mapping PAN to thumb-stick does not work for me either [ Logi X56 ] . LOOK does work , PAN is not .

this does work nicely in other sim ( you know , the big one , and I dont know of any other sim which have it implemented ) . would be really nice to have also in AFS4 as most of the modern joysticks sports the thumb-stick not just hat-switch .

In Settings > Controls > Input devices, change the Mode from Joystick to Gamepad (or vice versa). See if that makes a difference.

    Thank you, Mastodon.

But it would affect all axes I believe.

Edit: It works in gamepad mode. I just hope the other controls will not change anything. Thank you once again.

Edit 2: Unfortunately, despite the pan works now with the ministick, in gamepad mode I have some issues with the throtle. Looks like it just need some modification on joystick mode from the sim developper.

    Hello Jan,

Could you please take a look on it? It would be amazing to use the ministicks for Pan control, but it only works in gamepad mode.
The post is marked as "Thread is Resolved" but we can see other users still has the same issue. Could you please share a screenshot showing the option you do use to have it working.

    Thank you very much

ok , connected PS5 controller to PC . without setting anything [ maybe did the mapping in the past ] , by default left thumbstick works for PAN views . so went ahead and mapped the same PAN views to the thumbstick on my X56 joystick .

guess what , both thumbsticks are recognized in controls settings , but in-game it works for controller but doesnt work for joystick . mapped in game like this [ Rx/y is the joystick , Thumb X/Y is the controller ] :

Same on my side. But I did test with an Xbox gamepad. It works on the gamepad, but not on the joystick even that both were mapped.
Only in gamepad mode it works. If I put the joystick as gamepad controller, it works, but then my quadrant doesn't work properly. I can only fly if both sidestick and quadrant are set as joysticks.

It's a shame, that's the only thing that bothers me about AeroflyFS, not being able to take advantage of the joystick thumbstick. :(

@cristianodesa What kind of device is that that you are using? Can we purchase it somewhere to reproduce the issue?

    Thank you for your reply.

I am referring to joysticks that have integrated thumbsticks/ministicks. Normally, these axes in other games are used for some kind of a pan control. I've tested different joysticks with the same feature and none of them works even correctly mapped.

I can map the axes for pan control, and they seem to work in the Aerofly control settings panel (the bars move left/right), but during gameplay, nothing happens.
They work if I change the joystick control mode to gamepad, but that's bad because it doesn't work properly for other things as it is in fact a joystick.

    Thank you

Thank you for this information. But do you have a specific 'model' we can purchase for reference?
