• When you are selecting a location in the air the initial speed is set to 250kt below 10,000ft and the cruise speed above that altitude. If you select an approach the speed is set to the approach speed of that aircraft.

I believe they're asking for the ability to enter a cruise speed at any given location

For example, 300 knots at 100ft in the middle of the Atlantic, or 100 knots at 35,000ft in a random location

Sometimes I want to follow a specific approach or come from a specific location but the planes are usually too fast for a realistic approach. This makes me have to slow down which takes time and usually includes having to climb. I would love to see a slider which lets you adjust the speed at which you are spawning at; like 130-250 under 10k feet for an a320, or slower if necessary for other aircraft.

How many sliders and buttons do you want to have on the display? In my opinion, completely unnecessary. The developers shouldn't waste time on this, there are really more important things to do.🤦

  • I think the suggestion is good and I have a suggestion for it:

In the "Choose your starting location" window you already enter
    - altitude and
    - course
The speed setting can be easily accommodated here as a third option.

Personally, it’s a feature I’ve been thinking could be added for years now, and it looks like I’m not the only one who has thought about this. I don’t think this addition should be very time consuming.

We are always waiting for big improvements or big new features that take a long time but we often leave the little things that make a sim more practical to the side. ;)
