Hey guys !
I don't know if this topic has been dealt with already but I just wanted to know if it's normal that there is no approaches nor STAR available when you have to land at Istanbul International( IST / LTFM ) ?

I have heard that Turkey does not allow their data outside their borders. This could be the issue.

Really ? All their charts(for LTFM) are available on the internet... I don't get it
I think it's because of the old AIRAC used in Aerofly from more than 10 years ago, the "new" LTFM is just 6 years old.
Why won't Aerofly update its database?
Why won't Aerofly update its database?
It has been explained by the developer several times, they claim it has to do with the high cost of current AIRAC data from external providers and the fact that they consider that only a very small percentage of users would use that updated data. Do a quick search here in the forum with AIRAC keyword so you can see their response to that question.

So we're supposed to land at the old airport ?

No, but you'll have to design your own arrival procedure, something like this one:
because there are no arrival or departures published for LTFM in the AIRAC data used in the sim
Alright then do a visual approach, but do you select your waypoints at random or you look at the charts or Simbrief ?

Not only visual, you can check what runways have ILS and use them for instrument approaches, regarding STARS and waypoints I don't think they match the current charts (remember, this airport didn't exist 10 years ago) so you'll have to improvise

The LTFM airport has no arrivals in the simulator because AIRAC is out of date. I just checked the LTFM procedures list and most of the arrivals available for the real airport are from 2023 while Aerofly's AIRAC is from 2013.
Aerofly's airac data is very old, which affects the availability of departure, arrival and approach procedures. Several of these procedures have already fallen into disuse and have been replaced by others. That is why Navigraph support for Aerofly is necessary, as it would solve this problem of outdated airac. But unfortunately, the developers reject this feature.

There is no ILS approaches on any of these runways😂

Alright, thanks !

Are you sure? The fact that there are no approach procedures listed in the sim doesn't mean you can't use ILS for that runways
Oh, my bad then, thanks for your help !
