Changes from 8 ...9 ... 10 ?

  • Hello,

    I have version 8 ... is there anywhere some information what is newer / better in V9 or V10 ?

    And exists cheaper Upgrades-Sets ...from

    8-> 9 or

    8-> 10 ?

    Or is it better to sell V8 and buy full V10 ?

    I didnt found anything about this 2 things at Ikarus homepage.

  • I have RC8 (Steam with both dlc's and the ikarus store version) and the ikarus rc9 store version. Both rc8/9 continue to work great and for the type of flying I like to do (3D planes and heli's) I probably could have continued to just use rc8. I tried rc10 and except for some night lighting options, I didn't see much in it so I ended up returning it for a refund.

    As an aside, I also tried and refunded Realflight Evolution because I didn't think it was enough of an upgrade to RF9.5s. I still like RF9.5s for 3D heli practice on my PC monitor but I much prefer rc8/9 in VR with my Meta Quest Pro and Vive Pro1 headsets.

    Ikarus store has some pretty reasonable upgrade options going from rc8 to rc9 and also to rc10. Up to you to decide if it's worthwhile for you to upgrade or not. While there isn't any upgrade discounts on Steam going from rc8 (who knows why this is???). at least with Steam it's easy to get a refund if you don't like it (within 2 weeks of purchase and less than 2 hours use).

    BTW, I don't think you can actually sell your old copies of rc8 because I believe that ikarus software is non-transferrable.

    Anyway, like everything, your $'s so your decision mate. Cheers.

    Well Jan, I don't see what I have to pay for "upgrades" from 8 to 10,
    nor what the differences are between V 8 and 9 and between 9 and 10,
    at least I looked for that for a long time on ikarus pages ... :)
