Could we get a glass cockpit in the Baron 58? The plane is so good for XC's but the 6 pack doesn't fit the plane well. It's sleek, fast, and modern. I hope we could get this in the future.

I second this. Flying IFR is almost impossible without a GPS. I’d be happy with even a Basic Garmin GPS and still include the steam gauges.

Look up aeroplane navigation online. You will enjoy using your brain far more than having everything handed to you on a plate. How did the first cross Atlantic flights get it done without ANY navigation aids?
Having a second device showing a chart (eg. SkyVector) or better having a real chart available makes a huge difference and use the timers or a watch to allow estimated arrival times. Working out wind drift and ground speed is how real flying is done, you'll love it!
Pilots have tons of out of date charts, they are supposed to be changed every year. The free electronic ones are good too.

I also fly longer distances with the Cessna and Baron. Navigation with VOR/NDB frequencies works very well. The flight distance is displayed. Simple navigation is a lot of fun 👍

I’m hesitant to call the Baron 58 modern. The aircraft is from 1961.😅
A ‘modern’ twin would be the Diamond DA42 Twin Star. It’s a piston engined aircraft without a mixture and propeller lever!🤯 Advanced tech for the general aviation world, until you realise that automatic mixture control has been a thing since the 1930s and automatic propeller control since the 1940s.🤦♂️

Automatic means simplified, manual is flexible and can easily perform better or suit the pilot’s job in hand better.

I think we should leave the Cessna and Baron as they are. It would be better to add a modern aircraft, for example an SR22 or something similar.

That is until you have an engine failure on take off and get task saturated as a pilot. Maybe these modern aircraft aren’t the most fun for us simmers, but automation is safer.

You already know that we are talking about a simulator here. No engine failures and with simple navigation you learn to fly. 🤷

Somewhere in an old thread I was told that Aerofly has an issue with implementing G1000 type glass panels. You will not find them in any of the current aircraft. I am also a fan of them, and instead of being told it is too easy to fly with them, I would like to know when they will be available in Aerofly
