• The aircraft has a built in electronic checklist that you can open with the checkmark icon in the pedestal, next to the ECAM page selection. This is just the checklist for normal operations. Are you perhaps looking for the normal procedures instead of the checklists then?

Is there a project of making available the abnormal checklists? I understand that maybe implementing that function in the upcoming 350 might make it available also on the 380. I think the 777 has aswell that abnormal checklist menu. Thanks

  • I meant that you have been developing aircraft’s in a way that when you have 2 from the same family or maybe similar systems (as the 350 and 380) developing abnormal checklists might be useful to have failures in the future and having both normal and not normal checks on both A350 and 380. The question was if abnormal checks was something being developed or in the to do list to add to both aircraft’s.

  • Some abnormal caution messages are already implemented for example engine failure. There is a whole menu in the A380 for abnormal checklists that are non-sensed, or in other words the checklists to follow if the aircraft doesn't detect an issue... So which do you mean right now?

The A350 and 380 have a lot in common, yes. But there are also several differences. For example the menu for the normal checklists are now on the MFD and no longer on the ECAM along with the abnormal, deferred or dispatch messages. This requires some redesigning on our side too.

I think that menu would make much more sense with the ability to simulate failures. For example, maybe the fumes in cabin checklist after a fire in the APU and you have to complete the abnormal checklist. The menu exists. But when you enter the checklist it is empty. I have seen in the 777 on YouTube videos that they are more complex that the normal checklists, but as we have already a developed menu on many aircraft’s regarding abnormal procedures checklists, it would be awesome to have it complete. If I am not being understood well please tell me and I will try to explain myself better. Thanks in regards. I have attached some images of a 777 non normal check and a 350 one also. I think on the a380 is very similar to the way it appears when doing the fire test.

  • Thank you for the images, I'm currently in the process of reworking the electronic checklists

Here's a little teaser for you, how it currently looks like on the A350 MFD.
But that's just normal checklists, it's not the non-normal checklists which are still on the ECAM screen.

Thank you so much for the Teaser. If you make modifications it will only be available in a future update? (not necesarily this one as i understand you are full with the a350). On the subject of the non normal, there is a lot of useful info on Yt but i couldn't paste everything on this forum for obvious reasons. What I meant before is that I think it would be easier to complete the non normal checks and later have failures that can be solved while doing that nonnormal checklists. The thing was that on the a380 the menu exists with many extra checklists but they are incomplete. On the other hand, you were right that the normal checks are similar but not the same between the 380 and 350. If you need me to look more info on tis subject please ask. Again, Thank you.

  • The amount of work to get all abnormal checklists just right is pretty huge. And only a handful of users will be able to take full advantage of them. So the time invest vs. new customers added isn't well balanced with this. That's why I stopped with the abnormal checklists in the A380. Keep in mind that this is still a default aircraft and not a payware add-on. If I had 3 more of me then I'd be happy to add them right away but unfortunately there are other things I need to take care off as well.

One thing we're currently evaluating is if we can add a checklists menu or overlay to the core sim itself that shows the full procedures and gives users the option to auto-complete them through the use of the copilot. This way almost everyone benefits from added realism and improved accessibility, not just the hardcore simmers that want to practice an emergency every now and then. This would focus on normal procedures and normal checklists first and ideally would be available for pretty much all aircraft. You can imagine how much work this still is just for the normal procedures. But this would be well worth the time invest because a lot of users can benefit from it.

If you have access to the real flight deck of the A350 or A380 then photos of the normal checklists and also the abnormal checklists would be much appreciated. For the A380 I gathered all the normal checklists from many many videos, but they are slightly inconsistent because some airlines have slightly different versions. Of course these image don't have to be uploaded publicly.

  • I didnt understand "One thing we're currently evaluating is if we can add a checklists menu or overlay to the core sim itself that shows the full procedures and gives users the option to auto-complete them through the use of the copilot." Could you explain it with different words? On the amount of work issue, I understand it, maybe we could have the less complex ones. If my memory is right on that menu on the a380 there are red and white abnormal checklists, maybe have at least for now the red ones?

"You can imagine how much work this still is just for the normal procedures. But this would be well worth the time invest because a lot of users can benefit from it." Is this being implemented?

On looking for more photos, i will be looking for a350,380 and b787 (i think they are pretty identical with 777 but i dont know about the 777f)
