Wow dude this thing sounds great!! Do you think you can play around with CFM sound a bit to make it sound decent? Even though I won’t be able to use it because I’m on iOS :D

  • Sounds pretty good, can you modify your own sound in such a way that it is played at constant pitch, not rising as the engine spools up? Then we could actually use the sound in the sim and fade it in based on the physical rotation speed of the engine.

Hi Jan. Yes i absolutely can. Would i be able to keep that initial growl before the engine increases in pitch? Also should i upload the "monotone" version on here aswell?

Do you think you could synthesise A320 cabin sounds for the CFM variant?

It's possible to manipulate the sound in pitch and volume based on several inputs. One of them can be the engine rotation speed, i.e. N2 or N1, but it can also depend on fuel flow, exhaust velocity or other parameters. A monotone sound that is looped allows us to change the volume and pitch in the sim based on the simulated physics values, so if, for example, the starter cuts out early or the bleed air pressure is not enough to accelerate the engine the sound follows the physical behavior. Faster or slower engine starts then also sound correct automatically.

  • Your contribution is wonderful, thank you very much, I hope ipacs works with you on the sounds.

Yeah I’m dying to hear what he cooks up with a320 CFM sounds, i currently don’t fly the 320 and haven’t for months because of the awful sound, and there are no IAE livery’s on the 320 so…🤷‍♂️ the a319 will go on my no fly list soon because of the new update that nerfed the sounds but it doesn’t have the uncanny grey stripe so I’m still thinking about it. That leaves me with the 321 and the awfull uncanny looking grey stripes around the cockpit windows👍

The IAE A319 is still too underpowered as well. The old physics were fine.

it is under powered, but that wasn’t my concern tbh. It’s that they reduced the power and didn’t adjust the sound to match the selected detent. So now TOGA sounds like climb or spool up even. It sounds horrible, you don’t even hear the buzz anymore. It’s kind of lazy work from IPACS that I wouldn’t think they would do:(

That’s one of the reasons I agree with flyish, even though we all want the a350 especially me, I think IPACS should hold off and fix the existing bugs in the game or issues that have been there for literally years. I mean check this out https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpWFCWxjq…GJlNGgzeGNldjc1 TOGA takeoff and you barely hear a buzz, just air rushing into the engine. In aerofly the TOGA detent sounds like a low flex temp or a climb detent takeoff

I agree, the sounds are what really need fixing. The buzz is missing for the A319.

They also adjusted the A321 in the latest update which I think got a lot closer to the real-life sounds and power.

  • It also doesn’t make it any better that the spool up sounds, sound so horrendous as well especially for the 737-900 which I’ve never done a full flight with. Man I’m not comparing or degrading ipacs’s hard work but the 737 and citation sounds on xplane 10 are great and almost 6 years old because I remember when the update came out for their sounds

Really? I thought the 737-900 sounds good. The spool up sounds fine as well. What's wrong with it?
