• Hi,

I’ve noticed that Aerofly often introduces aircraft variants that are less commonly used in real life, which seems to limit the number of routes and liveries available. For example, the 787-10 is included, but the 787-9 is far more widely used. Similarly, the 737-900 is featured, while the 737-800 is the most popular variant globally and would offer the most liveries. The same goes for the 737 MAX series—why not prioritize the MAX 8, which is more prevalent?

I’ve also heard that you’re working on the A350, but it’s the -1000 variant instead of the -900, which again is more common in real-world operations.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to prioritize the variants that offer the most route and livery options? I’d love to understand the reasoning behind these choices, as it feels like focusing on the most widely used variants would enhance the experience for users.

    Looking forward to your response!

The devs cited the simplified shortening of variants as the reasoning behind modelling the longest aircraft first, but:

-Other than the 77F, this hasn't happened with some of these aircraft exceeding five years in age

-The lengthened A321 (which has incomplete wings by the way) was launched this year, so I don't understand this excuse

-Less liveries, or "repaints" need to be modelled with less common variants

  • A 737-100/200 would be another very interesting variant. The late -200 has the Aerofly -500 panel and autopilot and the exact fuselage length (the '-500' is a foot short) and the same pre 'NG' wing. New engines are all that is needed, hardly more work than Marc's apron tug.

Agreed there. I believe there is a "Classic" 737 floating around somewhere on flight-sim.org, so I'm sure it's possible. I would love to see a JT8D-powered 737 as well, as gravel runways would be a fun challenge. However, I believe that existing variants such as the B737-800, 787-9, and 777-200ER should be prioritised first.

No because they use the biggest versions of the planes (besides the 747 for some reason) for people’s enjoyment or something

  • No because they use the biggest versions of the planes (besides the 747 for some reason) for people’s enjoyment or something

I can understand this because some kids using the app would just care about "I WANT TO FLY THE BIG PLANE 👹" so they would just like the -1000 a350 regardless of realistic flight ops for example.

But Aerofly really has the potential to be the best mobile flight sim out there just need to be more serious about it aircraft’s choice

    True lmao

  • We make the longest variants first because it is easier to remove sections and leave parts of the texture blank than it is to squeeze in extra details on a texture that is already full.

But other than the 777F (still retextured) and A319 (A321 model shrink) this hasn’t been done??
