The one feature to make Aerofly FS Global the most realistic flight simulator on mobile: Weight and Balance

  • The one thing stopping Aerofly FS Global of being the best flight simulator on mobile is Weight and Balance.

Right now, as far I understand the weight of the aircraft is static, close to MLW, but introducing a weight and balance and fuel load system would transform this simulator into the best one available for mobile, at least.

This is no easy task however, designing a fuel load and fuel flow system means calculating the weight of fuel in real time, which affects the aerodynamics and flight characteristics of the aircraft consequently.

This feature would make flight planning a lot more realistic and allowing us to use the performance calculator of the aircraft for its intended use!

I would like to know if this feature is being worked on as we speak or is atleast considered to be implemented in a near future.

    Thank you for reading,

  • All your points are what devs have said before: adding W/B would mean reprogramming flight models to change with altitude and fuel consumption, but would allow for ultra long haul flights with real fuel burn and for perf calculators in FMCs to go to use. I’m not sure it’s being worked on right now but i believe it is definitely in the pipeline for implementation in future.

  • Has any available input into an Aerofly FMC ever altered how the simulated plane flies? ..... well the navigation bit works, it goes where it is supposed to, anything else? flaps and Vr .....mm Cost index ..... SEL/OAT ....

the only difference i found is by altering the cost index it does not change the default VNAV cruise speed, in the boeing long haulers this is mach .82. what a higher CI does do, however, is change how long after 10,000 VNAV accelerates, either to 310 IAS or in the case of CI being 20, it will keep 250K all the way up until a cruise airspeed somewhere around 270-280 knots for mach .82

Increasing the flex temp reduces N1/EPR on take off. I enter correct V speeds using a performance calculator, flap/trim entry into the MCDU is just an advisory (like the real aircaft) Cost index changes CLB/CRZ/DES speeds. I was surprised at how detailed the A3xx family is, they even modeled ground speed mini on the PFD, I doubt 90% of users know what that is.
