What AIRAC cycle does Aerofly FS4 use?

  • Hi guys,

Recently got aerofly and am having a hard time making flight plans. All my flight plans from SimBrief contain about 50% of waypoints that don’t even exist in Aerofly, along with some airports having no SID/STARs or just very outdated ones.

Can anyone provide the AIRAC cycle number that aerofly currently uses so I can adjust to that for my flight plans?

And are there any plans for updating the AIRAC anytime soon?

    Thanks!

  • Hi.

I think the good thing about AFS4 is that you can easily create flight plans in the simulator, without the need for external applications like Simbrief or Navigraph.

I don't know what AIRAC it uses (maybe in airplanes like A320 it should be in the MCDU).

I recently bought this and I'm blown away... other simulators don't load as fast, or look as good, it's not perfect but I don't need more. This and MSFS are very enjoyable.

I am for the most part very satisfied with my purchase too. I only wish the pushback function was a bit better instead of having to do it manually.

As for the flight plan thing, I prefer to put the flight plan into the FMS myself instead of the navigation thing simply for fun and realism purposes. So having nonexistent waypoints can be pretty annoying. But this can be easily fixed if I just find out what AIRAC cycle is being used and thus make flight plans according to that

  • 1301 especially in Europe.

  • If I remember well, in Japan I used 2201 which was OK for routes but terrible for SID and STAR that seem to be from 1301.

Things are coming from 1301 and other, it is a kind of mix.

Unfortunately, in 1301, you will not have mordern RNAV that guide you to the runway threshold (like it is the case today at La Palma, Innsbruck, Aspen, Paro, etc.)

I think it depends on the region, I've been flying RNAV approaches around Europe. Haven't tried the RNAV into innsbruck (I flew the offset ILS to the opposite runway) What happens when you fly the RNAV into Innsbruck?

  • The RNAV ends many miles away from the runway, whereas the today RNAV Z 08 transition ELMEM brings you to the threshold.

  • Hi all

It is impossible to create a flight plan in simbrief, the oldest airac available is 2012 (December 2020)It would be nice if the developers offered the opportunity to be able to update it. It seems that in the future (I hope not too distant) there would be the possibility of using the ATC system Sayintentions.AI, but without an updated database it will be of no use
