Great review about AFS4 VR

  • Hi, just want to share this new YouTube video about our AFS4 in VR mode, it has 22k views in one day, AFS4 is getting more known. Well deserved!

After watching the video, I setup Virtual Desktop streaming frecuency from 72Hz to 90Hz, and indeed it looks much better (frecuency used in the sim of the video).

  • There is no comparison between Aero fly FS4 and MSFS 2020. Please never say that "jugac64". Aero fly is for "PILOTS", MSFS is for "GAMERS". Although some pilots use MSFS and I ask myself....."Why....?", when Aero fly is 100x's better. lol My gramps always says: "can't beat German engineering". ;)

What's going on with MSFS? You seem to be persecuted :/

  • What's going on with MSFS? You seem to be persecuted :/

No, no persecution, just don't use it anymore, fed up, had enough of em. Can't believe I fell for it. Aero fly opened my eyes to how simple and functional a SIM can be without any super bells and whistles. MSFS is akin to trying to stuff a watermelon thru a garden hose. Too much stuff going on, too many addon's, constant conflicts, software crashes, graphical issues, bad marketing, hardware indifferences even with users having the exact same PC specs or consoles. It's just an absolute mess. Many users do more tweaking and messing around with settings than actual flying. The list goes on and on, it's all in the forums the last 4 years going on 5 now. I have no time for it anymore. Aero fly is the best and will always be better than MSFS will ever be. ;)

  • Now I am happy to visit the video just to see that the visitors had increased. Now we have 40k !

40,000 is one thing, you just have to convince them to come here, or for the old ones to come back.;)
It reminds me of the time, when most of the simmers left for MSFS, all fired up, and in the meantime here we were only 35 or 40 full time on AFS2.:)

But in reality, how many of us have bought and flown on this simulator? That's the real question.
Likes are one thing, finalization is another.

    Everyone have a good evening!

  • I just like the simplicity, but high level of detail and quality in this simulator. To run XP or MSFS I feel like I need to be a computer programmer first, flight simmer second. Every update brakes something, gotta update drivers, figure out file folders and all that stuff along with constantly tweaking graphics setting, nvidia this ram that. I give up, I like flying but I just want to download a game and that be it. Not constantly have to mess with it.

  • Completely agree with you about programming! A real headache. Not to mention the calibration of the Joysticks when everything is going well. Without denigrating Asobo who do a considerable job, this time, they broke their teeth with their premature release.
The only real strength of MSFS is its design of graphics with breathtaking details, closer and closer to reality, water, ground texture with impressive details, but all this at a price on performance in general. In a few months, we will have to jump on an RTX 5080, which has become a very well calculated judicious and commercial market. But we all know the gas factories.

Here it is quite the opposite, simplicity, speed, fluidity, and with most of the hardware, already preconfigured.

One day a simmer told me, AFS is nothing more than a good arcade game, I answered him, MSFS has become nothing more than a good SIMS 5 version game. ;)

  • I think, both of them are good, but have a respective another intention. So you really can't compare them.

When I want system-depth, live-weather, calculation of route, consumption, payload, takeoff, approach and with ATC ... I choose XP with VATSIM.

When I want to do a quick flight just for fun, with simplicity and unbeatable realistic graphics in my opinion, I love AF4. It has some bugs more, but also many simple intelligent functions, which I miss in the other sims. With LiveATC in the background you even have the feeling to fly with ATC ;)

I like both kind of sims and use it according to my mood and desire.

  • My prediction is that VR will be more and more relevant in the simulation market (airplanes, cars, etc.), and slowly become more masive, specially thanks to Meta investment in the technology. 50%+ of VR Steam users use Meta Quest 2/3 (https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam…elcome-to-Steam).

And AFS4 has a good advantage among the other big competitors because it is the more efficient VR sim (require less PC resources to run VR), so I see a very good oportunity for AFS4 to grow in this area!
