Sometimes we forget what or simulation hobby is actually about. So I would like to point you to the idea of community challenges, and a very interesting example.
Obviously in some forums there are community challenges. Some random dude comes up with a nice idea for a flight, sets some parameters like locations, types of airplane, and also also presents some goals - which are most often great screen shots and a fun story on what happened on the flight.
So I would like to link to the Grand Canyon Rotor Run Challenge for us to participate - and to be an inspiration to come up with our own challenges.
Given the excellent custom mission file format of Aerofly FS (a brilliant format not only for sharing flight plans, but complete time and weather settings as well as whole stories!), I sketched up the Grand Canyon Rotor Run Challenge as AFS Custom Missions file. This could also be an idea to get more users to participate in challenges.
What could be next? Matthias Rust's flight to Moscow? An reenactment of the Berlin Airlift? A visit to all Scottish Whisky distilleries? A race to the Southern tip of South America? A Concorde trip around the world?
Let's share the joy of our hobby!
