Suggestion: Adjusting Ground Steering Sensitivity

  • I’d love to hear what others think: do you also find the ground steering too sensitive, or is it just me? 28

    1. Yes, it is too sensitive (24) 86%
    2. No, it is just fine (4) 14%

    Hello everyone,

I’ve been enjoying AeroFly Global on my Samsung Tab S7, and I wanted to share a small suggestion regarding the ground steering for most aircraft. Even though my sensitivity is set to the lowest possible setting, it still feels a bit too sensitive—almost like the plane reacts instantly to even slight rudder inputs. I think it would be more realistic if the steering were a bit “heavier” or slower to respond, so it doesn’t turn so abruptly.

    Thanks!

  • Yeah I gotta agree with this one, there’s no dead zone in the rudder so any slight movement will send the aircraft flying in various directions. I said this before months ago but it would be way more realistic if the brakes were combined with the rudder (like it is irl) instead of the throttle slider so we we wouldn’t have to worry about using too much reverse thrust and the auto brake cutting out. Thats one of the few features infinite flight has that I wish Aerofly did ?(

Both steering and tilt sensitivity. I play on analog with literally the lowest sensitivity.

For bigger aircraft like the 777 and a380, it's fine.

Smaller ones like the 737s, Cessna, learjet (a320 family is fine) are too sensitive.

Along with this, we should also get new pushback tugs. There should be tow-barless ones.

  • Below roughly 20 knots the steering also changes the nose wheel angle, that's why it's more sensitive at low speed, this is intentional. Otherwise you would not be able to make a 90° turn on the ground.

    Hey Ipacs,

Why not keep the ability to make a 90° degree turn at low speeds, but add an area of the rudder which is less sensitive? For example in the attached picture, have the non-shaded area be 50-75% sensitivity to allow for small adjustments in turns, especially when trying to follow the center line of taxiways or runways at low speeds, and have the red shaded part be 100% sensitivity to allow sharper turns when needed.
