When you choose “Cold and Dark” you have to turn on the plane by yourself. But some switches are already turned on in the cockpit. I don’t know if the plane does it automatically in real life (Or if those switches are never meant to be turned off). But I’ve been wondering ever since I got Aerofly.
Are the startups realistic?

In real life let’s say a plane is on the ground for a day without movement the previous pilots would leave some stuff on aka the parts that are not needing to be offed such as the PFD and MFD and nav lights

A lot switches are kept in an on position in the real world and only systems that could harm ground personnel when turned on as well as heavy consumers which are switched off when not needed. So for example you would not turn off the flight control computers, displays as well as systems that are off when the engines are off anyway (engine driven pumps, engine generators,...), but you would turn off the hydraulics, fuel pumps, window wipers, landing lights, etc.
Some switches control valves which would suffer from the excessive wear when you turn them off and on unnecessarily. That's why they are not switched off and back on each flight but are kept on even when the airplane is shut down.
Depending on the aircraft some systems automatically turn off even if the switch is kept on after engine shutdown. So for example in the A320 the Standby hydraulic system automatically switches off by computer command where as the other two hydraulic systems turn off automatically because the engines are no longer spinning.

For cold&dark settings I orient myself to the checklists of the respective aircraft. It specifies in which positions the individual switches are to be placed if the aircraft is put into the cold & dark state after a flight.
